Performer. Creator. Educator.
About Me
Marisa Ricci is an internationally recognized dance artist whose multifaceted career spans performance, choreography, and education across Canada and abroad. Currently based in Toronto, Marisa works as a freelance performer and creative, maintaining a dynamic presence across contemporary, neo-classical, commercial and theatrical genres. Her work has taken her across the globe, including tours throughout Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, China, Thailand, and Italy.
A graduate of TMU’s Dance Program (formerly Ryerson), Marisa’s artistic practice is fueled by curiosity and a passion for creating visceral and evocative experiences. Her work is rooted in classical technique and blends powerful physicality with expression.
Her choreographic works, featured in national festivals and international artistic residencies, often merge abstract form with conceptual rigor, inviting viewers into thought-provoking and sensory-rich encounters.
As an educator, Marisa is deeply committed to fostering adaptability, artistic agency, and technical clarity. She brings an integrative, student-centered approach to her teaching, empowering dancers of all ages and levels to explore their potential.
Driven continual growth and interdisciplinary exploration, Marisa approaches movement as a dynamic, ever-evolving language — challenging conventions, expanding creative possibility, and contributing to the ongoing evolution of both her own craft and the next generation of dance artists.
